Marengo Academy is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools

Marengo Academy is also recognized as a “Blue Ribbon School” by the Alabama Independent School Association.


Marengo Academy has historically provided a strong academic program, and the current faculty and staff continues this commitment.  Faculty stability has contributed to this success and our teachers continue working toward advanced degrees.  Our Board of Directors is committed to a well rounded education for each student that not only includes core classes but proggressive opportunties for advanced students. The high school offers an advanced and general curriculum that follows the Alabama Course of Study.  Students are encouraged to take advantage of special programs offered such as tutoring, ACT test preparation classes, EXPLORE testing (college readiness program), art classes, and vocational training at Marengo County Technology Center.  The elementary school has basic core curriculum consisting of reading, language, spelling, social studies, science, and math.  Enrichment classes are conducted in accelerated reading, accelerated math, computer, and art.

Marengo Academy’s Middle School Math Team won first place in the AISA District Math Competition and will advance to the AISA State Competition at Faulkner University. The team members that will go to state are Spencer Martin, Hayden Hall, Anna Michael Crocker, Haley Mitchell, and Andrea Edmonds.
